Samvad Trio
Samvad trio was born in 2013 as an Indian classical music group featuring Virginia Nicoli (bansuri, silver flute and voice), Igino Giovanni Brunori (bansuri and saxophone) and Ciro Montanari (tabla).
The three musicians share a deep love for Indian classical music, which brought them to India to learn for many years with internationally acclaimed maestros: the Gundecha Brothers, Rajendra Prasanna and Pandit Sankha Chatterjee.
They released a live concert album (Echinus) in 2013 and since then have played to audiences in Europe, India and Sri Lanka. Many exciting collaborations (with Ross Daly, Zohar Fresco, Conductus Ensemble, Hooshang Farani) have shaped the sound of the trio and expanded their vision towards the modal music of the Middle East, Central Asia and India.
The characteristic of Samvad is their constant dialogue, a musical journey made of ancient melodies deepened into the Raga with a contemporary sound that creates a unique landscape enriched by the accompaniment and the solos of Ciro Montanari on Tabla.
The harmony between them combined with their musical skills makes the Samvad Trio one of the notable Indian traditional music ensembles from outside of India.
